Inaugural Event Celebrates Centennial of Charles Aznavour

PHILADELPHIA — The Armenian Heritage Foundation of Philadelphia announced recently that its inaugural charitable and cultural event, is an evening dedicated to celebrating the life and accomplishments of the legendary French-Armenian chansonnier, Charles Aznavour, in recognition of the centennial of his birth.
The event will be held on Saturday, September 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the historic Philadelphia Club, located at 1301 Walnut St.
Aznavour, who died at age 94 in 2018, performed worldwide until the very end. He sang in five languages, wrote well over 1000 songs, appeared in scores of movies, including Atom Egoyan’s film “Ararat,” and sold over 180 million albums. In 1998, Aznavour was named Entertainer of the Century by CNN.
